Street Fighter Reboot Movie Lands 2026 Release Date

Thirty years ago, Universal brought Capcom's fighting game franchise, Street Fighter, to the big screen with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ming-Na Wen, Kylie Minogue, and the late Raul Julia in the leading roles. 20th Century Fox rebooted the franchise in 2009 which Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which featured Kristin Kreuk in the title role. Now, Legendary and Sony Pictures have set a date for their take on Street Fighter.GameSpot has learned that the upcoming Street Fighter reboot will be released on March 20, 2026. It's a very confident move by the studios considering that Street Fighter lost its directors, Danny and Michael Philippou, just over a week ago. The Talk To Me helmers reportedly left the project over a disagreement with Sony and Legendary about how quickly the film should begin production. The studios want it sooner, while the Philippou brothers already had a horror film lined up.
