These rifles are identical, so you don't technically need to claim the second Red Death Reformed. However, there's a good reason to do so for those who own the Season Pass. When claiming the Red Death Reformed, it's given to you at your current Power level. If you claim the first Red Death Reformed so you can test it out and play around with it, you can claim the second Red Death Reformed when you're at a much higher Power level to essentially get a free Upgrade Module. Is the Red Death Reformed worth using? The Red Death Reformed is a Pulse Rifle with the intrinsic trait Redemption. This trait causes final blows with the Red Death Reformed to cure you and increase reload speed. Reloading can then cure nearby allies. If you don't already know, the cure status effect is a small heal. With all of this in mind, you're likely to find more success with the Red Death Reformed in PvP over PvE but is worth trying in either mode.
